Problems with Classified Ads Section

Note that there has been a problem with the data held on our Classifieds Section. As a result all data held was corrupted and lost.

I intend to put a self monitoring rolling backup into place that should detect a recurrence of this situation and put the site into emergency maintenance mode, i.e. take the section offline automatically, until the data is repaired or restored.

Currently the issue is believed to occur from an action performed in the admin console and not from any user action so should not re-occur unpredictably, the only downside is that all of the ads stored, including data about older or expired ads, was lost. My apologies to user coaster10 who lost 13 ads.

The whole data structure will reviewed in the future to preserve as much data as possible if we experience another catastrophic problem such as this, in the mean time all newly placed ads should function normally once committed and should not cause any concern at all.

Can I give my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this issue has caused to users and casual browsers alike.

Mike.
